We hope that everyone who participated in The Nutcracker will continue in their “Performance Class” for the spring, and we invite everyone else in Elementary Ballet and up to join their respective Performance Class for the rest of the year. Those in the Performance Classes will have a new work of choreography created for them by our faculty, will rehearse the dance weekly, have it costumed, and perform it on our Spring Showcase in addition to the demonstration of their classwork that each class does. We offer this opportunity so that students can learn the performance skills inherent in classical ballet: teamwork, musicality, spacial awareness, learning skills, and stage presence. The cost of this additional class is $50 per month. We need to have your commitment to this class the first week back, no later than January 5. The schedule of classes (this may be different than your Nutcracker schedule) is:

Elementary Ballet -> Performance Elementary, Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Intermediate I & II -> Performance Intermediate I & II, Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Intermediate III -> Performance Intermediate III, Mondays 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Intermediate IV -> -> Performance Intermediate IV, Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Advanced Ballet -> -> Advanced Performance, Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Spring Showcase Fee

We expect that all our students will participate in the Spring Showcase unless you have a conflict. The Spring Showcase is Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. with an obligatory rehearsal Monday, May 15; both at Furman University’s McAlister Auditorium. Each class will show off their classwork in their uniforms, performing prepared exercises as part of the Spring Showcase. Those in the Performance Classes (see above) will have an additional dance in the Spring Showcase. We charge each family a $60 “Spring Showcase Fee” which includes 4 tickets (additional tickets $15) and helps us confirm your participation. Unless you “opt out” we will charge that $60 to your credit card on February 2. Those enrolled in the “Performance Classes” do not have to pay the $60 “Spring Showcase Fee” and will have to buy their tickets individually.

Advanced Class Costume Fee

Those in the Advanced Ballet class who are in more than one piece will be charged a $30 costume fee for each piece after the first.
